Setting Up Your Mailbox
ACCESSING THE VOICE MAIL SYSTEM

1. With your wireless phone turned off, call your wireless number from any touchtone landline phone.

2. When you hear the recorded announcement, interrupt it by pressing .

3. When you are asked to enter your temporary password, press plus the last four digits of your wireless telephone number.

4. Follow the prompts to change your password and to record a greeting.

TIP: If you smile when you record your personalized greeting, it comes across in your tone of voice!

Listening to Your Messages

Once you've set up your mailbox, you can access Voice Mail simply by entering Astrix 8 6 then Send from your wireless phone. Or, dial your 10-digit wireless number from a touchtone phone. When the recorded announcement begins, interrupt it by pressing , then enter your password to retrieve your voicemail messages.

Long distance charges may be incurred. Airtime charges apply.

After listening to a message:

7 Delete the message

9 Save a message

0 Other Options

Note: Call Forwarding preempts Voice Mail but returns when forwarding instructions are canceled. With Call Forwarding turned on, your callers will not be routed to your voice mailbox. Call Forwarded calls to a toll number will incur toll charges.

 

TIP: Call your wireless number from any touchtone phone to familiarize yourself with the system details.

Voice Mail Message Alert
Each time you make or receive a call, you'll hear a series of three quick rings that indicate a message is waiting for you. This feature is automatically turned "ON" for your convenience. However, if you would like to turn this notification off, or you would like to change other Voice Mail options, follow the steps on the chart provided at the end.
 
Some Things You Should Know...

Distribution Lists
Your Voice Mail service gives you the ability to create a distribution list and send a Voice Mail message to numerous individuals at one time. To set up a list, follow these simple steps:
  1. Access your voice mailbox, Then from the main menu:
  2. Press [4] for Personal Options.
  3. Press [2] for Administrative Options.
  4. Press [2] to establish or change group distribution.
Note: Phone numbers on your distribution list must be equipped with Verizon Wireless Voice Mail service to receive the messages you send.
 
Enhanced Voice Mail Service
Enhanced Voice Mail is Voice Mail with Pager Notification. You'll be notified of messages deposited in your voice mailbox via your pager. When you see your cellular telephone number displayed on your pager, you'll know a message has been deposited. This feature may not be available with some pagers. Please contact Customer Service with your pager number in order to have Enhanced Voice Mail set up. Then follow these simple steps:
  1. Set up your greeting.
  2. Access your voice mailbox. Then from the main menu:
  3. Press [4] for Personal Options.
  4. Press [1] for Outcall Notification.
  5. Press [1] to turn notification "ON".
  6. Press [1] to return to Personal Options.
  7. Press [4] to establish Pager Notification schedule.
Access Voice Mail From Almost Anywhere
In most areas that you travel, you'll be able to dial directly into your voice mailbox using [*VM] or by dialing your cellular number. Then follow the instructions for "Accessing Your Voice Mail Box".

To access your voice mail box from a landline phone, dial your mobile number then press #.
Then, follow instructions for "Accessing Your Voice Mail Box".
