Cellular Services/Price Plans - Choosing Service

When buying a wireless phone you need to consider the service plan more than the phone. Verizon Wireless offers different types of service plans that are color coded to help you distinguish them a little easier.

Our America's Choicesm Calling Plans combine our advanced digital CDMA service and, with America's Choice calling plans, all your plan minutes are national minutes. So you can call from anywhere on the America's Choice network to anywhere coast-to-coast with no roaming or long distance charges.

If your travel takes you all over the country you can select one of our National SingleRate plans which extend your home rate area to all 50 states!

If you don't need such an extensive coverage area but still want the benefits of digital service, you can choose one of our DigitalChoice® plans. Verizon Wireless's DigitalChoice plans put all the benefits of advanced digital communications at your fingertips.

To choose the package of service and phone that best fits your needs, consider Where, When and How Often you are going to use your new Verizon Wireless phone. Answering these questions should help you choose the plan that's right for you.

Where?
When selecting a service plan it's important to choose the area in which you plan to use your Verizon Wireless phone. If you work in a different area than you live consider where you will use your phone the most. This is the area where you should set up service.

If you travel and plan to use your Verizon Wireless phone in and out of your home area, you may want to consider one of Verizon Wireless’s America's Choicesm Calling Plans or choose  Verizon Wireless's National SingleRate calling plans.

When?
Similar to your home phone service, Verizon Wireless service rates and airtime allowances vary depending on what time you will use your phone. Some of Verizon Wireless’s plans include general monthly allowances which can be used at any time during the billing cycle. Peak and off-peak per minute rates are applied if you exceed your service plan’s monthly allowance. Generally, peak time is during the day and off-peak time is nights and weekends.

How Often?
Knowing how often you will use your Verizon Wireless phone allows you to choose a price plan that offers the right amount of airtime for your needs. Keep in mind when calculating your monthly usage, you are charged airtime for both incoming and outgoing calls. By choosing a plan that has an airtime allowance that is close to your monthly usage you are getting the lowest rate per minute possible.
